hyper-miling with an Allroad

I just traded in my Avant 2.8 quattro 5speed for an Allroad 2.7T automatic (tiptronic)quattro. I improved my mileage with my Avant by putting it in neutral when I saw a stop sign or red light up ahead, and going downhill. I also tried to drive in 5th gear whenever possible. Is it OK to continue driving like this with my Allroad even though it's an automatic. Will it improve my mileage?

The tip in my S8 doesn't like being put into neutral and rolling forward. I doubt it will improve mileage.

You could run a BI FUEL setup with gasoline/propane mix like me and get over 50 mpg with the 2.7. its pretty easy, and if you have vag com, its real real easy.

conversions start at 100 bucks/.

btw, LPG is 110 oct.
