NO AIR LEAK!

I decided to changed the title of the post because most of the post here on allroad suspension has to do with air leaks and this is not the case.

My allroad was recently in an accident. (was parked and hit by another car)

The left rear wheel was hit and the other smashed against the curb. The body-shop changed some suspension parts on the left side as was noted in the insurance estimate. I did not know what they change, for all i know it wasn't new parts.

When I got the car back the left rear is lower than the right rear. I can see this by eye and also in the fender well.

QUESTION:

Is there any part from the A6 suspension that is interchangeable with the allroad that will make it sit lower than the other side that was not changed. They don't know why, and cannot give me a reason why the left sits lower.

My suspicion is that they bought some used A6 part from the junk yard and use that instead of allroad parts. They did mention that everyone they call for parts said they only have A6 parts. Anyone know if this is possible?

The only thing left for me to do is request my old parts back and take measurements of each and compare.

Also they did broke the right level sensor arm and had to replace the complete level sensor.

if the correct parts have been fitted, then the next thing would be to calibrate the system, sounds like they will have changed suspension arms and level sensors and if so they need to calibrate the suspension so it knows what level is, it is painless but they need VCDS to so it. was it an audi garage who did the repairs? they should know to do the calibration.

Andy

VCDS Measured blocks

Group 4
Height Front 1 = -2.0mm
Height Front 2 = 2.0mm - 1.0mm
Height Rear 1 = -2.0 – (-1.0)
Height Rear 2 = -5.0mm

Group 5 No Units
Front 1 = 128
Front 2 = 129
Rear 1 = 119-120
Rear 2 = 130-131

I do not see any info on making calibration. Adaption and Basic Settings contain no calibration info.

I can only get live data. (pump on/off etc.)

You need to go through the "402" mod calibration, where you put in exact numbers as the car is exhibiting.

Edit: call your insurance company and tell them that only the dealer can perform this service and make sure the insurance co pays for it. The shop you used seems incompetent and cost-cutting

Next time bring the car to Audi for all body work and repairs.

Default AR level calibration

Thanks guys for the help. The calibration seems undocumented in the software itself.

As for the insurance company, they will not pay anymore. 5,500 is what they pay to the incompetent body-shop and they still want $500 deductible. Anymore and it would be right-off. (2002 Allroad 111K)

I will attempt tomorrow. Hope I don't make it worse...

The calibration is documented online and in shop manuals, even Bentley. Just follow the "402 mod" instructions.

Also, your car qualifies as incomplete. The repair shop quoted $5500 to do a complete repair. Thus complain to the insurance company that the air suspension needs to be calibrated because it is otherwise not safe and the repairs are not complete. They should send you to the dealer and actually it is the shop's responsibility. They should outsource any work they cannot do, and it should be included in their quote. At worst, the shop eats up the costs.

The repairs quote was a contract, and they underdelivered. The insurance company can withhold the full amount until the car is to your satisfaction.

Trust me on this. And push the insurance, who will in turn push the shop.

Got Bentley paper service manual and the info is no where to be found. I bought the DVD version but it is still sitting here in the original package it came in. (3 months ago.)

I did not want them to touch my car again. I get a lot of satisfaction in knowing I did it myself. Car is now level.

Thanks to you all...
