Right now it's coming down at about 3" an hour, a little over a foot since the first post.

Since the Sierra Nevada is the first mountain chain

that storms hit as they sweep in off the Pacific, storm-total snowfall is measured in feet. Three feet is a larger-than-average dump, and during my honeymoon we were snowed in by a storm that left 6-7 feet over three days. That one caused an avalanche that wiped out the base lodge at Alpine Meadows.

Are the lifts running yet? I'm planning to head up to Sugar Loaf (Maine) this weekend. They got 42" on Sunday.

we got 8 inches in an hour where i live(record) when i was in school, couldn't see a foot away

have fun : ) i would like to see a picture of an allroad buried in say 4 or 5 feet of snow if it happens.
