Default On level 1

Here I have been driving around on level 1 thinking I was doing the right thing. Why bother reading the owners manual I thought.....

After my first set of tires wearing out on the inside edge I finaly start to think.....hmmmm... maybe.... I will read the manual and yes.... here I am supposed to be on level 2 for normal everyday driving.

Of course driving with the car lower than it was intended causes the tie rods to be forced out more than they are supposed to be causing a toe "in" situation thus wearing out my tires.

Please correct me if I am wrong.... otherwise... thanks for listening to me rant.

Default Yep. And my dealer is unable to align it for Level 1.

Their alignment rack plugs into the OBD port and automatically sets the car to level 2 before aligning, so I was unable to get it aligned for level 1 (where I prefer to keep it).

Default On the level

Yes, L2 is it.

2 feels better. one feels sportier, but bottoms out easier. tires be damned!

drive on 3 and you can feel those doughnuts scrubbing off tread as the speed rises past 20, as well as the constant pump adjusting around 40mph.

enjoy it for the versatility. Be like a pompador on 3. Be like a race car on 1 all in the same drive. hit L4 and take off quickly to see if you can hit 50 before L3. Universal joints be damned! Parts is parts. The car has soul. Drive it like you stole it.

Isn't this another reason as to why we do the 402 mod?

Default I guess the inside edge tire wearing is caused by the more negative camber, and that is caused by

the lower ride height ????

The extra camber is there along with more toe "in" that is created. The further the car goes down the more the tie rod ends are forced out creating a toe "in" situation.

I assume you do the mod and then align the car to that mod?

I could do a search on the 402 mod as I bet it is one of the most talked about things on this forum but I am lazy by nature.

Default 120,000 miles on level one, never a problem with front tires,

in fact it's our rears that will show wear bars first. The only tires that showed wear on the edges (mich Pilot ***) fronts were the worst, reas too.
