Default Looking at allroads

Allroad vs Tourag??

Opinions on which is the better choice, more or less the same money. Does anyone know dealers who are selling at invoice in the NE or Mid Atlantic?

Default Looked at both, pretty easy choice for me.....

The Touareg is indeed a nice piece, but it still drove like an SUV.....big, heavy, to much isolation from the road, etc. The V6 is dog slow and the V8 is pretty pricey.....and don't plan on getting any sort of big discount at this time.

My 6-speed '03 allroad is much better driving, seems to have more room, is much easier to get in and out of then the Touareg.

Take some test drives and pick the one you like, for me it was an easy choice.....

Default Who knows???...set some priorities

Two totally different vehicles. Do you need or want a heavy SUV? Plan to take it into the backwoods? Do you need to pull trailer? Cargo space? Comfort? Does the 25%+ gas mileage difference matter? Do potential first model year woes concern you? Maintenance costs; out-of pocket for VW vs. covered by Audi?

Default Re: Looked at both, pretty easy choice for me.....

I drove both Sat and liked the allroad, drove like my A4 and had good power and control. I could push the allroad and was sure it was coming out of the corner. The tourag V6 was slow, the V8 was powerful enough but it did not feel as secure in the corners. (no air suspenion)All are high priced, if I could get an 03 around invoice I think that is the way I will go.

Thanks

Default drive them both.

i wanted an allroad -- but felt i should drive everything before plunking down the money. i bought the allroad. the tourag is nice -- but it feels like a pig in my books.

Default 03s should be less than invoice

there is (was??)an AOA 3K dealer incentive on 2003s. they might not be showing this on the window though.... ;0

Default No brainer unless you are towing.

Allroad is bigger, faster, safer, more agile, more flexible, better service, better luxury features.

T-Reg has more towing capability if you get the V8.

Put it this way, I'd take a W8 Passat wagon over the T-Reg unless it was for severe off-roading (ie. more than just a few dirt and gravel roads)

Default he should define his cargo space need

wasn't meant to imply Treg had more.
