performance upgrades

I just got my allroad I was wondering if any body can recommend performance part upgrades, brands to get, brands to stay away from etc. I am interested in changing the mufflers and air filter, and getting a chip. Any info would be great thanks

Applying the lessons learned from the S4, save your money on the filter upgrade (negligible gains if

any at all). A few tuners have released software for the Allroad: try GIAC, ABT or MTM for a proven quality ECU upgrade. Not sure if APR already has one as well. Some also offer a Tip ECU upgrade for much quicker shifts to go along with the increased power. I understand the exhaust will be a little tougher to come by.

Do a little homework and talk to the dealers, ask around. Ultimately the best is the one you feel more comfortable with and hopefully is close to you. Here are some sites to get you started:

If you have a Tip, a chip that produces less than 310lbs of torque is very desireable.

If Audi suspects chipping and your tranny goes - POOF ! there goes at least 10 grand of your own money.

Abt/AMS and Wett both make TUV approved chips. TUV is kind of like ISO here in the USA. Could be a peace of mind thing for you. Consider how long a chip maker has been in business ( will they be there if you have a problem ), how extensive their R&D really is, do they have a good relationship with dealers and AoA should questions come up ?

Rear muffler becomes a real point of constriction. You hear a "sandblaster" sound if this is the case. Rest of the exhaust is OK.
