Default Plastic wrapper

Does anyone know if there is a difference when the new vehicle arrives without white plastic wrapper all over it? Is this vehicle an exchange from another dealership? Was this vehicle in some sort of accident and a plastic was taken off to repair it? Where is a plastic put on - during shipping or at the manufacturer?

And the last thing, Can a dealer create a new windows sticker that shows all of the car options?

Thanks

The white plastic is put on in Germay. This is to protect the car during transit while it is on the ship. The reason they use plastic is to keep whatever may drip on the car (water, oil, grease ect..) off the paint and other parts of the car. Once it leaves the port of arrival and goes to the dealer and they take the plastic off. Other cars like BMW use cosmoline, which is difficult to take off to say the least. I don't believe the manufacturer would ever remove the plastic to repair the vehicle and not reinstall it for the trip oversea. If it was damaged once in the port they should let you know this information, unless like in my case something happened and no one said anything or something else. I'm going to the dealer today to see if they will fix my problems to my satifaction or find another car. As far as a window sticker I think that comes from AUDI.

Thanks silverallroad for your reply.

I am looking into buying a new allroad and the car was delivered to the dealership without a plastic wrap. This makes me a little suspicious as to why someone would take it off before it arrived to its final destination. Also it has a flat front tire. Should I insist on another vehicle to prevent possible suspension problems or something else that was damaged to this vehicle? Just trying to avoid any future problems.
Thanks again for you help

In regards to my concerns they realigned the door, 1/2 hr job, and they are replacing the windshied with a new one from Audi (ordered). As for the car that you are looking at, what is the milage on the vehicle and did it come from another dealer. If the flat happend while it was on its way to the dealer was it on a trailer or being driven? Have them replace the tire and if you cannot be there when it is done use a marker and mark the flat (without them looking just to see if they are willing to work with you and not save a couple of bucks on fixing the flat). If it was being driven I would try to inspect the rim once the tire is off for any damage. Ask them to do any alignment as well. I would probably have them put the vehicle on a lift and inspect the suspension undercarage as well. If it came form the port and not another dealer it should still have the plastic on it. If this is all to much to take just hve them get you another vehicle. When I went to get an allroad - the car was more important to me than the options, so I gave them 2 colors to chose from and said it had to have conv and prem pkgs, they found the car that day. Hope all this helps, good luck you'll love it once you get it.
