just noticed this: when i lock the car with the keyfob, all passenger doors lock, alarm arms, conformation honk. HOWEVER... the rear hatch DOES NOT lock. (Key in the hatch at the vertical position) When i turn the key in the hatch to the horizontal position the hatch is locked, however then it will not open with the key or handle.

advise?

Haven't gotten it checked yet though. Two likely suspects: 1) could be a side effect of recoding the locking mechanism; or 2) we closed the hatch on our floor mat, which caused something to break (I can actually hear something loose in the hatch when I move it up and down). Are you still in warranty?

I just had the dealer find out that all my wierd electrical woes were a bad micro switch in the drivers side door handle. Could there be one inside the key ***'bly of the hatch?

Look and see that there is not any wierd switches on the trunk latch, its a long shot, but on a sedan isn't there some valet switch back there?
