Thanks to input from people like MarkFank (one of my heroes!) and TARH20, I too have had my allroad programed to allow the folding key remote to access "hidden" features...

I had these done on Saturday 20 October. It took all of but 5 min.! I went to a VW tuning shop in Santa Cruz, CA called Volk's Cafe' - it's one of those places that sells chip tuning, basket handles for the boot and coffee cans for the exhaust.

Anyway, I just printed out the info on the link and took it to Volk's Cafe'. They plugged in their VAG tool and changed the codes on the laptop! And Presto! Now I can operate the windows/roof with the remote and doors auto-lock at 15mph then unlock when the key is removed...

I still can't figure out why Audi doesn't make this "standard" in the U.S. - it is in Europe.

Lastly, you can try but be warned - MOST Audi dealers won't do this because it is not "recognized" by AoA. I asked Stevens Creek Service (San Jose, CA) and they refused. But all you need is to take it to someone who has the VAG tool!

For those who are interested I would call Volk's Cafe' @ 831.426.1244 and ask for Chris Honig. Volk's Cafe' also specializes in custom Euro upgrades/parts for VW, Audi, Honda/Acura, BMW and Toyota... How's that for a shameless plug!

WOW! Hero status! :-) Glad it worked out. I was charged $40 then I bought my own VAG tool.

 

Our dealer did it for no charge at 5k service!

I got the same "recoding" for free in Houston.
