Default Pulled a Code and MAF questions for this crew -- read on, please

Wife's ar lit the MIL (I think CEL is more universally understood, but them I'm no Audi engineer). VAG-COM tells me it's this code, and I cribbed this description from Ross-Tech web site:

17544/P1136/004406 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Add): System too Lean
[edit]Possible Solutions
Check Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor
Check Fuel Pressure Regulator
Check Fuel Pump
Check Intake/Exhaust System for Leaks
Check Secondary Air Injection for Leaks
Check Vacuum Lines for Leaks
[edit]Special Notes

Light once came on, went off and then came on steadily the other day. I discovered and reset it after I pulled the code Monday night, and it's back today. There's a nice discussion of Fuel Trim Info at this place that was interesting on this subject, too: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/Fuel_Trim_Info

Questions:

A. I'm guessing mass air flow sensor at about 60000 miles for this 2001. Any other input?

B. MAF replacement - is this basically plug and play that even this idiot can handle? Like 30 minutes, maybe?

C. Finally, ECS offers new Hitachi MAF for $268 versus REMAN Hitachi for $148. Even if it's really not my money, is there any reason to avoid the remanufactured unit if it's otherwise guaranteed?

Default Hold on, turn off the floodgates of information. Update is I think I notice at least

one vacuum leak. The car at 60,000 miles has at least one if not two braided hoses that look frayed, and I hear suction. More to come.

Default Thans, Ex. Just confirmed what I saw last night and will repair the leak we know about

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/63325/vac_hoses_leak_allroad.jpg"></center><p>later today. This picture shows an arrow where an tiny run of braided hose has a leak. The little thin braided line looks funny at the circled end, so I will replace as a preventative measure. This is all towards the rear and on the left bank.
Advice elsewhere is not to use braided, but silicone or something else is okay.

Where is the suction pump that you refer to on this car? I purchased a spare one time, but still can't see the existing one even after asking and being told here before - possibly by you, too. Sorry.
