17544/P1136/004406 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Add): System too Lean
[edit]Possible Solutions
Check Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor
Check Fuel Pressure Regulator
Check Fuel Pump
Check Intake/Exhaust System for Leaks
Check Secondary Air Injection for Leaks
Check Vacuum Lines for Leaks
[edit]Special Notes
Light once came on, went off and then came on steadily the other day. I discovered and reset it after I pulled the code Monday night, and it's back today. There's a nice discussion of Fuel Trim Info at this place that was interesting on this subject, too: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/Fuel_Trim_Info
Questions:
A. I'm guessing mass air flow sensor at about 60000 miles for this 2001. Any other input?
B. MAF replacement - is this basically plug and play that even this idiot can handle? Like 30 minutes, maybe?
C. Finally, ECS offers new Hitachi MAF for $268 versus REMAN Hitachi for $148. Even if it's really not my money, is there any reason to avoid the remanufactured unit if it's otherwise guaranteed?
Advice elsewhere is not to use braided, but silicone or something else is okay.
Where is the suction pump that you refer to on this car? I purchased a spare one time, but still can't see the existing one even after asking and being told here before - possibly by you, too. Sorry.
