Pulled the trigger...
The car has 87k on it, but the previous owner had an extended warranty and maintained it pretty meticulously. The tranny was replaced when the torque converter failed somewhere around 60k.
Seriously, who has the dealership do the oil changes even AFTER it's out of warranty? It'll need a timing belt soon, if I'm smart I'll crank it out during a long and not particularly enjoyable weekend before the weather turns bad here in Seattle.
I've noticed a couple of things that I wonder if people have experience with. First, the chrome shift level surround (it's a Tiptronic) is very scratched up and looks pretty crappy. Is getting a new plate and swapping it in more on the cheap/easy side of the spectrum or expensive/painfully difficult?
It also looks like the headlight lenses are pretty pitted. It has xenons, so it still throws a lot of light (ask me about the headlights on an '83 US-spec Urq), I'm guessing that doing anything about that would be expensive enough to make my eyes water.
Anyway, another Audi enthusiast joins the AR crowd.
You can "refinish" it in a brushed finish. Here is how I've done it...<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/allroad/msgs/172809.phtml">A6/allroad brushed shift bezel</a></li></ul>
