Reverse!!!!!!!!!!!
My AR. Start acting up las week with a complain from my wife that in reverse was jerking sometime , like usual it never did it to me ...Go figure...Now today no reverse at all iis anybody when true this before...

its happened to many.
You need an audy savvy tranny shop..not a dealer. Dealers like to replace the entire tranny.
Find a shop that is well veresed with ZF transmissions. This is the manufacturer of the unit. If I recall it can eb fixed with some clutch parts and valve work. You also need to have the torque converter checked as this too is a known issue.

When mine went away...
First - I notice the BTL was getting longer and it would slam harder when engaging.
Second - It started to shutter in reverse, notice it onlt twice.
Third - A full blown stall out around a very sharp right hand turn at 20mph
as in oops, this is my turn, dynamite the binders, crank the wheel and back on the throttle (shruggs shoulders). Replaced with new at dealer under extended warranty.
That was a year ago on a 2001 w/64k mi on the odo. It now has 74k mi.
Find an Indy like Paul said, unless you have a warranty.
