Default TIP Chip installed!

What a difference it makes in shifting in all settings (D, S and sequencial). Very responsive and the first few miles makes me very impressed.

I had the work done at Matrix Integrated in Portland, OR. It is a GIAC 09A chip.

I haven't been able to determine if there is any reduction in the dreaded "tip lag" or "brake lag" but it appears to have less hesitation when in transition between slowing, on the pedal, and stop/go scenario's.

Default Me to same place! They are tops. Brake lag gone, tip lag better but still there. How about

a GIAD DIPP for your next mod:&gt

Default How about the DBW off the line?

We just took delivery of our second allroad, a used 2001 tip. This is going to be a long term car, so I am not really interested in cranking up the boost. I would prefer the car to go 150k. But the lag from a stop is almost dangerous. Planning to chip the engine and tranny. Will this work?

Default THose along with BPV will help but not get rid of it. Driving in tip mode

with higher revs is the best way to avoid it.

Default As I always do in these posts I like to throw down some facts...

BTL Brake-Throttle-Lag is in no way eliminated or even reduced with the TIP chip- Why you ask? Because it's a "feature" of the ECU.

The TIP chip simply speeds up the shifting programs the way it should have come from AG.

Driving in "TIP" will not eliminate BTL either.

If you want to know more there are many posts under my name or my old name rr-allroad.

Now the good news.... The TIP chip is a great MOD!!!

Default My experience

I just got both the engine and tranny chipped last month at the same time (stock diverters). If you ask me there has been no effect on brake throttle lag time. Turbo lag still exists. IMHO there is no palpable reduction of lag time over stock in "D" (using my non-scientific custom fabricated "seat of the pants" chronometer). The big change is that when the torque does kick in, there is a lot more of it and the upshifts are much quicker resulting in improved acceleration.
