UPDATE on slipping/shuddering Tip in reverse...
I got to work this morning and tried backing into my much steeper parking garage and it slipped like crazy. Just like a bad clutch, had to give it a bunch of revs, say 2800rpm, and it finally made it up the short but steep grade without going more than 5mph. Am I screwed? Should I just avoid reverse until I can get it fixed? What is the most likely problem? Bands, TC, solenoids...
I can't afford an Audi TIP tranny right now. Thanks in advance.
Face it , something is wrong. With any tranny you could increase the amount and the cost of damage, the longer you use it. Just because reverse is the problme now, doesn't mean a forward gear won't be next.
TO "web diagnose" is not right because ther are too many parts that can be the cause. From valves, to electronics, the hydraulics, to gears.
Check out the Audi World area forum where you live and ask for a suggested shop that knows our trannys.
