Default Vibration

Have a slight vibration, which can be felt though the throttle pedal and seat, driving at exactly 45mph. Dealer has re-balanced wheels, no change. Could it be drive line? Anybody out there with something similar?

Could it be a warped disc rubbing slightly against pads?

Tap your brakes gently at 70mph. You'll feel a big vibration in the steering wheel if its rotors

I have the same vibration. The vibration changes with throttle position and speed and has gotten worse. I've had my Allroad for just over three months. I reported the problem one week after purchase and have had the car at the dealer three times for the problem. Did all the tire things, still had the vibration. To make a long story short, Audi is aware of the problem but doesn't have a fix.

Not all allroads have the problem. The Rocky Mountain tech (I live in Colorado) said he is currently driving one that vibrates. Audi swapped the driveline with a car that didn't have the problem and the problem stayed with the car, didn't follow the driveline.

I've now been told by Audi to wait, Germany is looking into the problem. In the mean time I'm driving around an allroad that vibrates all the time. I very close to declaring the car a lemon.

Just picked up my allroad 2 weeks ago. When I took it for a test spin, the wheels vibrated at exactly 45 mph. Salesman said, it was due to vehicle sitting in the same place for long period of time on the ship from Germany. He said it would go away, but 800+ miles later it is still there. Taking it into Audi dealer on Monday. Will let you know what they find.

I also have experienced this problem. Seems to happen mainly when the driveline is engaged. (ie not coasting) The dealer has no answer.

Do we have anything in common? I have goodyear tires with standard wheels.

If you are still following this link, and your car is similar to mine (I have a 94 90, then look at your lower ball joint. If it is worn, could cause your problem. Lift the right side of the car and force the wheel at the top and bottom and see if it moves. If it does, take off the wheel and the rotor. see if you can move the hub up and down. If so, then i would try the ball joint.
