I had to replace oem halogen headlight bulbs on my 97 E320 Benz every 6 months.
check my previous links....to fill in some of those blanks...see the link to the HID FAQ website... An easy way to kill 4 hours of your evening.

My car is still under warranty.. Even if it was not, it is only 4 years and 4 months when one of the xenon globes stopped working.
Audi tells me it is not covered under warranty and i need to bear the replacement cost which is about $1000 (cost + labour)
What do you suggest I should do?

Lastly going through the Audi dealer, it the most expensive route you can take. Search for posts on the topic in the correct forum.
I don't know what car year you have, but typically it is possible to buy a new bulb and just replace it. If not fro Audi, them from an aftermarket vendor. It is a simple procedure and something you can likely do yourself. It may also be the ballast, which is an electronic module that typically is attached to the headlight.
As an example I replaced a B8 A5 Xenon headlight bulb last year for ~ $60.
