I'm not sure if I understood your reply correctly but its been mentioned in several sources that you can't charge from both side at once to increase charging speed (AC charge speed is limited by on-board charger and DC fast charge is only on one side). Where did you hear this information?

I’d previously read that the e-Tron Quattro would have charging ports on both sides of the car. That may be what the previous poster was referring to o. The rep at the LA Auto Show this weekend, however, noted that the right cover side panel is a dummy. Charging only occurs on the driver side.

I do not know the US version, but for EU version:
Standard: 11kw/h AC charge and 150kw/h DC charge, charge port is on the left side of the car.
Option 1, Additional charge port on the righ side, only AC charger on the right side
Option 2, Additional 11kw/h AC/DC converter, which brings up total AC charging to 22kw/h
Option 1 and 2 are independent of each other (i.e. one can order option 2, but not option 1, this still brings up total charging to 22kw/h).

I would also question having to plug in both sides of the vehicle. That seems very inconvenient for the user.

I found this web page that has a couple good tables describing the EV standards, including connectors. It's missing CCS2 but otherwise looks good.

i thought you could charge level 1 or 2 on either side (but not both at the same time) for convenience but the DC fast charge plug was only on one side.
