Doug Demuro review
#2
For those of us who don't want an outlandish looking electric car the e-Tron is a fine looking car and true to the Audi form. If they got the mileage sorted this car would've knocked it our the park. I'm 90% sure I will still purchase based on people's comments in here and generally positive reviews

Doug's definitely a bit excitable, but I really like the way he goes through the e-tron's features in this review. I haven't got my e-tron yet (still at the "leaving factory" stage), but I learned quite a lot from this review.

I honestly thought I was going to hate it and pull the fuse, but I actually think it's pretty cool. It's a head turner in parking garages which is good for a laugh.

I was able to hear it in the cabin. Can't say I care for the attempt to sound like an ICE but do appreciate the rationale. Didn't realize it had a different backup sound and judging from the video I think I will like it just fine.

It doesn't sound like an ICE at all. I don't think the video above captured it well. The only comparison I can think of is in movies when they show cars in the future. My wife think it sounds like a Jetson's car.

Sorry for not being clearer. The sound I was referring to is the artificial one generated by the e-tron at low speed. I also like the "electric whine" of the motors that is normal for all the EVs I have driven. Very cool indeed.

For comparison, this is the I-Pace's Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS):
