Electrify America: sites, road-trips, account
I’ve seen a few posts about EA sites & account credits but it’s probably time for a dedicated post-launch thread.
.
SF Bay Area chargers are scarce right now but it looks like my typical SF - Portland - Anacortes route *might* be doable already while relying only on the EA network, and it should get easier once all of the under-construction sites are finished (end of 2019 is the claimed completion for round 1).
I was able to get the MyAudi app set up and connected to my Edition One, but I don’t see the EA account credit yet. I’ll probably ping my dealer about that today.
.
- Whats been your experience at Electrify America chargers?
- Were you able to get the full 150KW?
- Any brave souls attempt a significant road trip yet?

I'm in the SF Bay Area also and have an Edition One, I set up the My Audi account and set up Electrify America in that. You get a screen you just add the Charger ID to when they are available. I also have ChargePoint and Blink accounts
I have not tried EA since but have read that you should select unlock after charging in the MMI on the car ( DC only )

I went about 9 miles out of my way local to try an EA charger. They were only 50kw and the cords were ridiculous (especially how the lines were painted on the pavement - might have been less of a stretch if I parked across the lines). But had no problem charging using credits via the app. This was in Torrance,CA - I think in SoCal the only safe road trips will be along the coast or to Vegas. Palm Springs trip was okay - but 50kw isn’t going to be fast enough

This still the state of EV travel- chargers slower than expected, not working or occupied. Are you at least able to see on the App whether the charger is occupied, working or not? Hope EA upgrades and installations pick up the pace.

there is no EA App and so the only option right now is PlugShare which only will tell you if a plugshare app user has ‘checked in’ as a courtesy. The Audi app gives you access to your free credits but I don’t intend to burn any more of those on slower chargers. The electrify America app is supposedly coming soon but still not out at least for ios

SWFla EA L3 Charging station ca 1/4 mi from exit 101 of I-75 in Walmart parking lot. Was installed a month ago with 1-50W, 2-150W and 4-350W chargers. I believe the 350W’ers step down to 150W for Level 3 e tron charging. PS my e tron is presently inbound on truck from Port Houston to Audi Naples.
