Depending on where you're located, you may be able to get your electric utility to pay for most or all of the work to get the necessary amount of power to the location you're installing the chargers.

I put in a 50 foot trench to have my 240V, 50 A line run from my house to my garage. Line will be installed next week. Putting in a 22 inch deep trench is painful, even with a gas trencher/ditch witch. I'll need to clean it up prior to the line install next week. Anyone who is planning on doing this and hasn't done it before, I'm happy to share my experience, as I made all kinds of mistakes that I'd prefer others avoid. Getting closer...

3/4" conduit would work as well. Since you only need three 6 AWG wires in the pipe and the conduit is rated for 4 wires. Conduit Fill Table - Electrical References - Elliott Electric Supply
My Tesla charger has 3/4" conduit and the new Juicebox we used 1", both work great. We were able to pull the wires pretty easy in both conduits with a fair amount of bends. We used a couple junction boxes to make it easier. The runs were around 50 ft each.

My JuiceBox and Tesla wall charger both use 2 hots and one ground. You are correct that NEMA 14-50 needs 4 wires (2 hots, 1 ground, 1 neutral). Either way though a 3/4” conduit will safely fit four 6 AWG wires.

I'm leaving all that to my electricians. Putting in the 22 in deep trench is the real pain! Rent a trencher and don't dig it yourself. Your back will thank you!

Thanks...only reason I mentioned NEMA 14-50 is that Audi says their charger uses that spec. Didn't want someone to run 3 wires when they might need 4 wires.
