With thanks to “southparker” above — just ordered one from Amazon ($239 with free shipping. Chg’d to Amex Plat to get extended warranty.) We have a number of Tesla destination chargers in Naples, so it may partially pay for itself over time.

The JDADAPTER STUB I ordered from Amazon arrived at my door in good order within a week direct from the mfr. It looks very sturdy and well made. There was one item in the directions on use the with Tesla GEN2 wall connectors that was unclear to me. As the business card of the manufacturer was included, I emailed him for clarification. Within minutes my phone rang with the answer to my query. Wow! Such good customer service. Watch this space as I look for a Tesla destination charger to try it out.

Why would you need to use a Tesla destination charger in Naples if you live in Naples?

Like the idea of using a free source of electricity — locally, for example, the Naples Philharmonic has 2 Tesla destination chargers and wife and I are patrons. I’ve yet to map out others such as shops, restaurants, hotels and the like who offer free “volts” for their customers. I also believe the adapter would be most useful on travels.

I bought the 40 amp stub. The link is above in an earlier post.

Have you tried it with the new E-Tron yet?

Used my stub tonight to connect to a Tesla destination charger in our Municipal Parking Garage and it worked flawlessly. Tad concerned that the connection between the Tesla connector and the stub was only a friction fit, but it all held together nicely. Not certain if the Tesla connector was missing piece, but I check others I could use for a freee “top-off” in my town.

Has anyone been abused yet by Tesla owners for using them? The Tesla stations in the bay area are pretty jam packed with Tesla's and my fear is getting abused when as Tesla driver starts to argue that these are for Tesla owners only. Walk away from the car and you're likely to come back to see your e-Tron keyed, lol

Pity that some scumbag might key another person’s car especially since the destination entity, not Testa, is paying for the convenience of charging for their patrons or tax payers in the case of municipal chargers. I’m now thinking of making up a sign for the dash, “Notice: Connection Permitted by Owner of Charger.”

It's an extreme example but i'm sure some Tesla owners would feel they have more right to be in there than other branded cars not knowing that the owner is paying the cost to provide the charger not Tesla. When you see Sentry mode catching people out for spraying acid on a model 3 for being parked outside their house on the street it's sad to say that it doesn't put it past me the lengths some people will go to these days (the owner of the house thought the street outside the front of his place was his property also *sigh*)
