Default 21 e-tron Electrical System ?

I know best to take it into the dealer but while my appointment comes up, Recieved "Electrical System malfunction" and then "low battery charge, battery will charge while driving". This happened a couple of weeks ago, I drove around during the week and both warnings went away. I haven't driven for a couple of weeks and the warnings returned this morning, wnyone else experienced this, I've put some 35K on the car and this is a new one for me?

I reckon it is the 12V battery, if you have a trickle charger, you can try the charge the 12V battery (switch of the car before you do it).

You don't have to dig deep to connect to the battery itself. There are dedicated "remote" terminals for that under the hood on the passenger side, connected directly to the battery with thick cables. Just keep in mind that these are not fused, so avoid any short (which you also would need to avoid when connecting to the battery itself).

yeah thinking the same I’ll put VM on it see what’s the voltage currently. This battery was replaced not too long ago.

I have a 2019 with almost 80K, the electrical system malfunction popped up this morning. My 80K service is coming up. Hopefully it's just the 12V battery. I assume given the age and mileage of the car, they will have to replace the battery?

I’ve had 1 12v replacement at around 18-19k not sure why battery is loosely goosey with the charge, but need to confirm that’s the actual issue.

Well, today light went off , I believe it’s battery not holding charge without hooking it up vag tool only can go on voltage readings. The voltage came in at 12.56, which is supposedly normally , interestingly when i checked load with car own we 13.1 and I understand this should be 13.5 - 14.5, not sure if it’s true for EVs but 13.1 would indicate some sort of charging in an ICE car so I’ve read? Either light is off now … but seems this is battery related or charging related I suspect as I’ve been diving the battery did get charged hence the 12.56, and that it’s discharging somewhat or not holding charge. This seems to happen if I don’t plug in for several days or don’t drive …. Need to experiment on conditions that cause.

The car use an AGM battery with slightly higher voltage than a regular lead acid. Anything on or above 13V is charging. The voltage will be higher the fuller the battery is. It is also temperature compensated, thus higher voltage in cold weather. Right now (around freezing temperatures), my charging goes slightly above 15V on a fully charged battery, dropping to 12.8V when idle without charging. That battery is soon 6y old.

lights off so I’ll take it as a win for now and monitor, it takes quite sometime to get appointment in dealership for EV so hopefully it’s just charging issue and now that battery has recharged am good to go, until the appt and can confirm if there is an overall issue with charging system.
