The Benz has had the slopped back look (CLS) for several years..not very popular really, Merc people who can afford the class prefer the more formal looking S class by a long shot.
Whats interesting always about a new A8 is the tech we underlings will get passed down eventually, I just hope they don't do any *slopping with the A6 or 4..do it to the 5

We had the car at our dealership for a training event recently and it looks really classy. When I looked at pictures, I had the same concerns but it has its own persona. It has a stout and sporty stance. The interior is exquisite and bears some resemblance to the Panamera. Loved the drive with the new 8-speed Tiptronic. The gear shifter threw me off because it is "fly by wire" technology but shifts in conventional fashion.

The cars we got were European spec so the front grille was different. US models will have the license plate filler. Also, they had a 4-spoke steering wheel which will only be available on the A8Ls here.

yeah you're right it wont steer itself, but i will do just about everything else. The A8's fine tuned active cruise control is one of my favorite features, it'll keep you cruisin' with pack and following in traffic at ease. I find myself using the feature whenever i drive these Combine that with the masseuse that lives in the driver's seat and you don't ever wanna stop driving

I am very impressed with the new A8L. Although I thought the lines were to close to the A4, the car in person looks much more grown-up. The technology is amazing and the B&O is unmatched acoustics for a car.
