Default Any tips on reattaching the rear view mirror?

I'm trying to glue it back to the glass but I can't be holding it steady for an hour before it dries up. It's a little heavy to be hanging on a partial dry glue. Can the balljoint be separated from the glass housing itself?

Default If you use the right adhesive (2-part) it should stick right away...

...had a auto glass shop here reattach it for free.

Default Don't use Elmer's Craft glue...

I know, that wasn't helpful. Sorry.

I couldn't honestly think of anything constructive, but your post looked lonely.

Default i assume you are talking about the interior review mirror?

yes, the metal part the glue goes on comes off. If the metal part is circular, you have to push it in and turn it at the same time, it's a PITA. If its u-shaded, there should be an allen head screw the needs to be loosened. Either way, be sure it's up there facing the right way, once that glue dries its not going to move easily. Are you using the special glue to stick it up? Local auto parts have it if not.

Default Yes I got the adhessive from FLAPS..

How do you remove the round metal that at the base of the mirror? No allen screws anywhere. I assume prying it?

Thanks for the tips Ryan.

Default I'm trying to remember if i even took it off, i remember it was a PITA

I think you can put the metal part in the palm of your hand and press down and turn.
If nothing else, i'd put the glue on it, put it up there, hold it and have someone with a hairdryer on the other side. You shouldn't have to hold it for an hour that way.
