Default Car does not start. Ideas?

I thought it was my ignition switch because when I turned the key nothing happened not even a click. I replacced the ignition switch with a brand new one and still nothing. Jump start didn't work. Battery is good. Removed the driver's kick panel and I hear what I suppose is the starter relay clicking when I turn the key. Bump start works fine and the car runs great so I imagine it would be the starter/solenoid. Any other ideas?

Sounds like a dead starter to me.

Dude: Classic.Your ignition switch did fail (like a day or so ago). It left the starter engaged after the engine started and it was over spun. You need a new starter.

Sorry not so classic. I haven't driven since the day I turned to key and nothing happened. I made the assumption that it was my ignition switch however it was not. Old ignition switch was in perfect working order. I recognize the sound of the starter not disengaging. I should have listened to the relays first.

It in fact appears to be the solenoid.

Well you SAID the switch had failed. That's how they kill starters. Hope you still have used starter in the shop.

Ya I know. I thought I was all cool with my spare ignition switch in the glove box but I was just a nerd. I don't know if I have a spare starter. I hope so. Worse case I rob one from my Coupe.

Put car up on ramps, etc. Block to prevent movement. Disconnect Battery (have radio code handy). Find starter. (Exhaust side of engine, low down). Note where the wires go to, label as required with felt marker and masking tape, etc. Disconnect electrical connections. Remove bolts holding starter to engine. Remove starter. Stare at it for awhile.

Installation is the reverse of removal.

Starter PN is 034 911 023X (where X = rebuilt)

How's that? What did I miss?
