Default do you use tape to hold the valve open while bleeding? or will it lock open?

if it's closed during bleeding, you'll lose pressure pretty quick.

a power bleeder is one of my favorite tools. after borrowing kday's a couple times, i finally bought my own.

Default Oh I forgot to mention that part. The valve locks open to prevent "thumb fatigue" when spraying : )

I would have found something else if it did not lock open.

How well did the pneumatic fittings work? I thought about using them but was unsure.

Default Chris, great pictoral. Personally, I prefer 10psi of air pressure instead of fluid. Less mess.

Of course there are drawbacks to this:
Moisture in the air.
Bleeding too much fluid will empty the reservoir and then you'll be pushing air through your lines...
But, to me, it's worth it. Less mess, no messy brake fluid spills, and it's very quick to set up.
My thoughts on this are: "If you're not on top of your game, maybe someone else should be working on your car."

Default Thanks! HA! "If you're not on top of your game, maybe someone else should be working on your car."

I like that.

Yeah I think I will do that with the clutch since it's not that much fluid. But if I were to do the whole hydraulic system, I think I would use hydraulic pressure and maybe finish off with air pressure. That is partially why I left the valve in there. You can just stop pressure and finish flushing the system. If you need more just open it up for a second. I am excited to try it on Friday. I'll take more pictures of the job.

I was thinking tonight that the pump could also be used to pressurize the cooling system to find leaks. I remember seeing that in the shop manual. I have a spare coolant cap that I am going to throw a nipple on to.
