Default Holy s**t flushing the heater core is a bitch!

I understand that I need to remove the heater hose going in and out of the heater, but this is easier said than done. Very tight space. I can't even really get in there to pull the hoses. Anyone have a small asian girl they can loan me? (now thinks dirty thoughts too

Default This is where needle-nose pliers and WD-40(or similar) come in handy.

Loosen the hose clamps and spray PB Blaster, Liquid Wrench or WD-40 where the hose fits onto the fittings.

Now grab the hose with a pair of needle-nose and begin gently rocking the hose side to side by twisting the needle-nose. As you twist and the hose starts to move on the fitting, pull.

Add more penetrant as needed. On really difficult houses, use a strait bladed screwdriver to pick up the end of the hose at the fitting and work the blade around the end of the hose between the fitting and hose, adding penetrant as you progress.

The hose will come right off without damaging anything.

Default pull the silver clamp holding the air box down. that'll give you clearance to pull that little

section of hose.

Default Or just remove the hose from the heater valve and leave the valve and bleed hose attached.

Or, loosen the clamp where the bleed hose attaches to the heater core fitting, remove the philips screw that holds the heater valve to the side of the heater box, and then grab the vavle and use it as leverage to pull both it and the bleed hose off the heater core.

See.....this is easy.

Default The vacuum actuated heater valve may keep you from flushing the heater core

As far as step-by-step goes, you're reading it....

Pop the hoses off as we are discussing, slip on a couple of hoses of your own, and then use a garden hose with a pistol grip type spray nozzle to flush the core in both directions.
