I own a 1993 S4 since new. For some times now I experience the following problem: When the car is cold or when the outside temperature is below ~15C, the turbo boost goes to 2.0 (all fine). In the summer time, the boost is limited to 1.4. The local mechanics have no idea on what can be causing this problem. Can somebody help in orienting the search?

Thus if it is cool outside it will decrease the boost...if it is warm outside it will increase the boost. (Sounds backwards but Audi wanted a consistant driving experiance) regardless of outside/intake temps.

you have it backwards. if it's cold out the ecu increases boost. if it is warm outside the ecu decreases boost.
