The ZZZ number is stamped on the front firewall, behind where the POS etc. cover is on the S cars...

I haven't looked to see if there is a number there on the S4. I don't remember off hand if there is a ZZZ number on the VIN plate visible through the windshield.

The Euro cars don't have VINs per se, just the chassis number (IIRC)

I think I had that discussion with somebody in Estonia or Lithuania.

You are correct. No Euro cars got VIN# per se.

Things europen authorities always look for is chassis and engine number - yes motors are stamped with unique numbers and if you do a swap you must document it.
