Temp sender T pipe water temp sensor circlip--I can't get it back in, any suggestions?

Temp sender is not correctly seated. Take out Sender and O-ring, refit and reseat.

Replace the water outlet on the back of the engine while you are in there.

Default OK, I'm a dumbass, how exactly do I insert the circlip?
Yes, I pulled my o ring from the old T. I have snap ring pliers, can't get it in.

Default Ugh, couldn't figure it out. I dremeled off the "legs" of the circlip and have a clamp holding it
inside. I'll buy another t fitting and circlip next week...

Default insert the clip before the temp sender. reverse order will not work.
learned this on Taurus SHO speedo cables.
