Anyone else disgusted by the packaging that comes with the parts you order?

Anyone else disgusted by the packaging that comes with the parts you order?
Almost every package i've recieved lately with auto part in it (probably 20 in the last month) have had so much paper, cardboard, plastic and styrofoam peanuts in it--one i'm glad to say had cornstarch peanuts that melt with water--that it is insane. I got a crank sensor today for my wifes BMW that was in a 1"x4"x4" box but was packed in a 12"x12"x12" box stuffed with butcher paper. And they all seem the same--actually much worse. I am an avid recycler, composter, energy and water saver (to compensate for my cars massive carbon tire-print) but it seems excessive. That stuff has to come from somewhere and it has to go somewhere.

your car might have a significant carbon print but at lease your still driving it
rather than buying a new one which causes tremendous impact. well, at least that's how i like to justify my sub 25mpg cruiser.

Yes, so sad. I agree. Conservation, recycling, etc, are paramount.
I inevitably have packaging of my own to do, so I keep all the reuseable packing material stowed in my basement/garage. Fortunate to have the extra space, I guess, or it would get recycled, but I figure it's something positive.
It all coincides with my bigger concern as well, which is loss of natural habitat(all those paper products coming from trees, and polymer/polystyrene chemical waste invading the watersheds.
I want to have actual "nature" for my kids' kids to enjoy someday. That worries me. Although I guess it's all a moot point if the atmospheric conditions preclude being outside.
