Default Trunk won't open. Glad to be back!
Ah yes, my first post with an S-car problem.

Anywho. Darned trunk is stuck shut in the 1993 S4. Keys won't unlock it, button in glove box won't release it, and banging profusely while pushing taillight lock button won't cut it either. Anyone have any vintage secrets to this? I can't fit through the darned ski sack hole to release trunk either.

Sounds dumb but did you try the IR remote? Does it open the doors? If so, it should open the trunk. If not, there is a rod that has come loose/droppeed off the opening mechanism.

I've never tried but there must be a way to remove the back seat.

yeah, but there's also that giant piece of metal that is the rear firewall

so you tried inserting the key in the trunk, left 2x, then push?

Mike got it open.

He turned the key to the ON position, hit the trunk release button inside the glove box.. OPEN.
all done.
He's grateful for the suggestions here.
