Matrix LED headlight misbehaviour

Matrix LED headlight misbehaviour
I would like to leave the headlights in ‘’Auto’ for minimally controlling when they’re needed, but I am noticing misbehavour regarding oncoming cars and leaving the headlights in ‘high beam’. That is, it sometimes works flawlessly, but more often than not, the lamps remain in high in site of oncoming cars, or do not come on at all.
For avoiding blinding oncoming drivers I am opting for leaving the switch in ‘Auto’, but leaving the “beam” setting in manual (push/pull top-left lever, and “auto” disappears from driver display).
How many have also seen this? Has anyone been able to make sense of it?

NO, my AUTO setting in my Q8 (and in my previous 2019 Quattro) work really well. In fact, I think it is a little biased towards not stepping back up the high. Maybe you have an obscured or faulty sensor. I think that is in the rearview mirror compartment in the windshield.

After I’ve made sure the camera at the top of the windshield is clear I’ll see what Audi support has to say…
I have to admit… when the high beams for the Audi matrix LEDs are working well it is quite the light show!
