Default Automatic Start/Stop Acceleration Response Fixed!

I just posted in the mega thread about my experience with this, but figure "the fix" warrants its own thread so owners can post their experience.

I had my one year service, saw the recall and update, and did not experience the lag for a few days.

Audi recall shown on service invoice states: " 37M6 W - UPDATE - Engine and Transmission Control Module Software - 4M Open 37m6 performed"

I reached out to my service advisor -

Here is the message thread:

Me:

Hi David, could you please clarify a recall that was fixed on my vehicle: " 37M6 W - UPDATE - Engine and Transmission Control Module Software - 4M Open 37m6 performed" What is this?

David:

In certain driving situations, especially when driving at lower speeds and not coming to a full stop, the restart response and acceleration of the engine after an automatic start/stop event may not meet customer´s expectations. The updated software will harmonize the acceleration behavior after a start/stop event by optimizing the shift pattern of the automatic transmission

Me:

Received! This is the update I have been waiting for! PERFECT!!!

David:

Awesome! Hope it feels more responsive for you

**** I HOPE THIS IS THE REAL DEAL AND WHAT WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!!!!!! GET THE UPDATE WITH YOUR LOCAL DEALER!!!

@larsendiv - So far it has drastically improved the response time. Not sure if it is a "complete" fix to no lag at all. I have not been driving enough to determine that. Will keep you updated.

I am on a 2019 Q8 Prestige.

I just called my dealer and they have the update. Going in a couple hours to get it done

In my vehicle it seems completely fixed. I have an early production Q8 from November 2018.

Yes, I drove quite a bit over the last two days and confirm it is fixed. Feels like a new vehicle to me and I can't believe what a difference this software update has made!

I would def recommend everyone to go get the update done.
