Default BG44 Decarbonizing Process?

Has anyone had experience with the BG44 de-carbonizing process in the 3.0T engine? I'm looking for an annual preventative process.

I don’t think it will do much on this engine if your main concern is carbon buildup on the intake valves. I have this engine in my S5. This engine is direct fuel injection only. BG44 works really well in port injection engines or duel injection engines that have both port and direct fuel injection.

Best bet for this engine is to run top tier fuel to prevent carbon buildup as much as possible.

BG44 will help the injectors though…but there are tons of quality choices at places like Walmart or any auto parts store for that.

Before they created the product below, many people would run BG44K directly into the intake manifold. Anyway, there's now this:

I have no idea how much PEA is in BG44K (I'd use Redline SI1 myself instead), but PEA does survive combustion and would end up in the blowby gases that would pass by the intake valves (cleaning them) as part of the PCV "path"

The process I was referring to was a shop-only process requiring proprietary equipment. It introduced the solvent both as a mist in the intake air and IIRC, directly into the fuel supply at the engine. It's been several years since I saw it used. Thought I'd ask about experience with the process before try to locate a shop that can do it.

That process seems similar to the one I saw but with more simplified equipment.
