You can no longer order flat bottom steering wheel also in Europe. This is allegedly related to Audi switching to a different sensor system in the steering wheel which these with flat bottom don't have.

Does this mean that I can't replace my current (2020 Q8) steering wheel with a flat bottom version?

Yes, you can if you have MY2020. Probably it will be impossible in MY2021 since these models will have some driver assistance systems based on "capacity sensors" in the steering wheel. Instead to keeping the steering wheel to confirm that you control the car it will be enough to touch it. This system, which is much more convenient, is already used in many cars as BMW or Mercedes and it is strange that Audi introduces it so late.
Please note that if you decide to replace your steering wheel on flat bottom you will lose the steering wheel heating if you have it . Flat bottom steering wheel was never produced in the heating version.

Retom, thanks for the info. I see you are in Poland and that some of the flat bottom steering wheels on Ebay come from Poland. Do you think the Euro steering wheel is the same as the US steering wheel? I don't care about loosing the heated part of the steering wheel, just think a flat bottom looks better than round!

Yes, The Euro steering wheel is the same. You can also remove the buttons and gearbox paddles from your old steering wheel and install them in new, flat bottom. They are the same.

how do you have front and rear fog lights in a North American car? Did you retrofit? My light switch has two options, “Auto”, a blank on the middle where your “front” is and “Weather”.
