Default RS Q8

Hi,

Just picked up a RSQ8. Just checking to make sure this is the current sub forum for it.

Amazing car! Excited to be here.

That is awesome! Scared of depreciation but that must be exciting to spec your own car. Maybe one day I will work through that fear.

Coming from a totaled blacked out 2023 Etron at 48% depreciation in two years and 23k on the clock. Loved the way it looked. It was definitely a head turner. Not going to miss the range in it. Wish Audi made an ICE equivalent of it.

Market is tight, not a lot of good options in my area and felt a little rushed but picked a car that is probably done with most of its depreciation. Picked up a used 2021 RSQ8 hoping it is solid. 33k miles grey. Starting to see some quirks that I am hoping they are just that. It has the Carbon Ceramic Brakes. Night vision, Alcántara, tow. It is beast! I do love driving it. I can't believe those 23" wheels.

Now to find a winter tire set-up. Dealer told me I can go to 21 but I find that hard to believe. Going to start looking for tire/wheel threads! 😂

Congrats! Sounds like a great spec/purchase. Yes, this is the correct subforum.

Edit: You cannot go 21" with CCB. The dealer is probably looking at the size options for standard steel brakes. Lots of good info on wheels here. CCB is still relatively rare on here because none of the Q8 or SQ8 owners have them and only maybe 20% of the RS owners have them on here. Luckily most of the RSQ8P have them, so the number is increasing. Just make sure the advice you're following is ok for CCB.

Thank you! Hopefully!

Great information! Yes, that is what I figured! Those CCB are ridiculous! Hopefully they last longer the car! 😂 Sweating that.

So 22" is the lowest. Got it.

Thank you!

You can order a RS6 with ceramics with the 21" wheels. Wonder why that won't work on a RSQ8 ??

The RSQ8 ceramic brakes (same as Urus) are significantly larger than the RS6 version. RSQ8 is 440mm front, RS6 is 420mm. Nearly a 1" difference.

Pretty sure they are the same size. When you order a set of OEM brakes for a RS7/RS6 they spec at 440 mm.

They are not. The front ceramic are 420mm on the RS6/7. The ceramic rear are the same on RSQ8 and RS6/7 at 370mm.

You may be seeing people retrofitting the 440mm from the RSQ8 (Edit: or the RS6P?) onto the RS6/7 (I saw that thread too). Those aren't OEM for the RS6, but are indeed OEM (for the RSQ8). Those people would not be able to run 21" wheels after the retrofit.

RS6/7 has 420mm front steel rotors and 440mm ceramic rotors.
