Virtual cockpit failure
I’m new to the forum and I hope the bright minds here have any idea of what is happening to my Audi Q8.
Some weeks ago the virtual cockpit when blank (first picture) while driving with subzero temperature (but nothing crazy, -5 Celsius). While in this status, I held and pressed for long the leftmost button on the steering wheel and at certain point several warning signs appeared. When later the car was parked for 30 minutes and temperatures came back above zero, the cockpit came back working ,but with six warning signs turned on (second picture). The error message given is “Instrument cluster failure”.
Since then, I was driving twice in subzero temperatures and the cockpit returned to fully blank, to then return back with the famous six warnings once temperature was back above zero.
Checked with Audi in Italy and Germany, they all point to replace the cockpit, which comes at a pretty hefty costs. Reading online, it seems there is the possibility of upgrading the software first and see whether this helps. Via contacts, it seems my cockpit hardware is version 24 and software is version 53 and there should be a software version 60 available. Is there a way to tell precisely?
Did any of you experience something similar and would know whether there is any chance to fix the problem?
Thanks a lot

Are the Audi TSBs accessible somewhere?
But when looking for instrument cluster, I couldnt find the right TSB - do you by chance remember it which TSB exactly?
Thanks a lot,
Marco

I also did an OBD check and the error code found is B200049, which seems to be linked to the steering wheel (but that part works perfectly).
Anybody has any further clue on this one?
