Aftermarket headunit and antenna problems

Aftermarket headunit and antenna problems
I have a 2000 S4. I swapped out the factory headunit with with the Pioneer avh-p3100. Everyting works great but I get no FM radio reception. The AM radio works but not very well which it never really did. I ordered wire harnesses and they gave me an antenna adapter which hooks up to one of the wires. There is another wire that is not hooked up. Could this be a seperate one for the FM radio? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Since the radio antennas are in the rear window, there may be an RF amplifier that needs to be powered on with the radio. I'm not sure but I do know some cars are like this. This could be one thing to investigate.
Since I have my rear deck panel removed at the moment I can see that there are two modules right under the rear window which are likely to be the interfaces for the antenna(s). They are either signal amps and/or transformers to correct the impedence of the antennas.
Based on the coaxes that I saw on those interface modules, I believe you may not have the FM lead connected. I'm curious to see how the antennas are set up in the B5.... do you have a Bentley manual?

Sorry for the late response. I have been without my S4 for about a month and just got it back. No I do not have a Bentley manual. So do you think that I may just need to connect another wire to power an amp for the antenna?
