Another amp problem
I have a sony xplod amp which is 3/4 channel. My sub is connected to the rear speakers using both the left and right speaker terminals. My sub works fine except it can not be controlled by the sub woofer level on the headunit. The rear speakers will not work. They are hooked up to the front speaker terminals. They will work if i disconnect the sub and hook them to the rear speaker output. The rca terminals are hooked to the correct inputs.

what model head unit do you have?
also, how are your front's powered? do you mean to say that your fronts and rears are running off the same 2 channels?
as for the sub, my first guess would be that your head unit has dedicated sub-outs, which aren't being used to send signal to the amp. therefore, when you adjust the level, it doesn't alter the output of the rca's that are actually sending a signal to your sub

my fronts are powered off the headunit
the headunit has subwoofer pre-outs and also rear speaker pre-outs. I had it wired once the same way as now I thought and the adjustment for the sub worked through the headunit.
