Coding or totally incompatible?
I got Audi S5 2009, i have B&O system, but it was missing amplifier in trunk.
I've got used 8T1035223A, it's not mentioned to be compatible, but all connectors are the same.
So far, MMI starts, but there is no sounds, sound icon muted, no reaction to volume control.
As far as i know when there is component protection, it should work, just sound only on left side.
So is this totally incompatible, or other actions required to make it work?

MY09, so you have MMI 2G, not MMI 3G. The MMI 3G amp is not interchangeable with the MMI 2G amp. You're going to need 8T0 035 223 T. And it'll be a lot more expensive than the much more common MMI 3G one. It's why I'm still without sound over a year after water damage took out mine. To have to pay CP reset on top of the excessive cost due to it only being used in the MY08/MY09 A5 and MY09 A4? Pass. I think I plan to just pull the CD changer and radio and amp and Bluetooth and AMI units, replace it with an aftermarket solution mounted in a DIN frame that goes where the CD changer is. Leave the core MMI 2G system (just the J523 with controls and screen) in place so I can still get to the CAR menu, etc.
That all said, 8T1... is not even for B8.0 years, 2G or 3G. That's a B8.5 amp. The B8.0 3G B&O amp is 8T0 035 223 AN.
Also note, the DSP parameters data set is loaded into the amp unit. So unless you can confirm the amp came from another S5 coupe, you'll want to be sure they load up the correct data set for your VIN when they do the CP reset.
