Hello Everyone,

I've been strugaling for quite some time and i've decided finally to post it here my questions so i dont run in to problems later.

Let me explain you so far what i've done and where i'm at the moment.

1. Q5 2018 year
2. MIB2 high version with MU 1118
3. Release - MHI2Q_US_AUG22_P4171
4. Variant - Harman (Qualcomm)

I've enabled the Green engineering menu and also the RED menu as well.

I've been able to enable the frequency to get European Radios and also have Km/h withtou appearing the Miles.

What left is the MMI and to be able to use the navigation.

So far i got that I will need to convert it first to EU firmware and then update the maps and etc. Let me tell you guys what i have and what i'm planning and if anyone can help with a bit of expertiese I will appreacite.

1. I've did a backup/export of the settings from the RED menu and put them on a SD card
2. I've Firmware - MHI2Q_ER_AUG22_P5092 with MU version -1329 for Harman (Qualcomm) ( the same as my model which currently I have on the car)
3. Can i go directly install the Firmware MHI2Q_ER_AUG22_P5092 on top of MHI2Q_US_AUG22_P4171 ?

How to start properly this and how to avoid any damage.

1. Do i need to do the conversion from USA to EU eeprom unit ?
2. If so how to do the changes? I can telnet it to the MIB2 ( i found how to do it - but i cannot enter with the root username becuase i do not know the password) - What is the password for the Root account
3. If I dont need all this conversion then Can i just go ahead with - Green Menu. Go to SWDL -> Check: User Defined SWDL and then SWDL -> development -> Check: Ignore
Region and Variant.


I will appreciate anyone that can contribute. I know that i'm just a small step before success but I will need someone that have done this before to tell me how to do it properly.

I can do all work remotely. You only need dlink e100 and vcp. Approx time is about 1.5h.

 

Have you managed something LyuboD?
What about DAB? Does it work in EU?

@simaservis1108 do you have any software solution for DAB working in EU?
The DAB hardware seems to be present, but i guess it's set to work only with US freqs.


PS: I bought the car with the MMI already converted from US -> EU. Now has K3344 EU firmware

 

After reflash to EU,DAB will never work because in US it HD/SDARS radio.
To get it working,DAB module must be installed and HW Coding edited.

Also I see the system is still MU-P-LNS-US which is not good,and somebody used solution that was copy pasted from somewhere and not done properly.
That conversion is not done completely.

No need to change the MMI unit at all.
Just a proper EU conversion is good enough.
