mObridge unit for iPod integration - AVOID
After a month or so of struggle with the guys at mObridge I'm here to let you know that you might want to look elsewhere for an iPod integration solution.
The unit is OK (when it works) but the technical support from mObridge has been shockingly poor - some of the email exchanges have been almost hostile - and at the end of the day, no one knows what's wrong with the unit.
I'm in the process of swapping my unit for a new one (paying the installer fees, of course) and I guess that's my only real hope. If I had it to do over again I'd certainly be looking elsewhere for a solution.
Feel free to message me if you'd like details.
Matt
Here in the forums, you'll find many happy
1. Dension GW 500, and
2. AMI Retrofit
customers, where each have chosen one over the other for various reasons - installation, costs, MMI integration, features (Dension Search vs AMI Search) , past experiences, etc.
Haven't heard from too many folks who went one of these routes and then had serious regrets.
Unfortunately, neither of these are low-cost solutions, which is why new options like the mObridge are met with cautious enthusiasm....and why it's disappointing CCIEvoice has had such a poor experience with same.
Given how touchy Icelinks were a few years ago, I've been hesitant to work with the Dension pieces, but if the GW is working well, great.
