Default it will be hard...

basically you want the tight bass that the large sealed box gives you but w/ out the space..its kinda hard..
if you didnt want as hard hitting a system I would say go w/ a JL series 3 10" or 12" .
I use 1 JL 10 and its nice.. uses a tiny truck box too prolly sound better in a better box. But then it doesnt hit like a 15" would. On the flip side..smaller the sub the faster its response time so not as deep but quicker if that makes any sense. Also may want to try a polk device that is boxless made for home stereos..screwes into the floor or under seat and provides insane base but at such a low frequency that its barely any sound mostly vibration..its made for theater effects etc..almost force feedback type device. But it hits and hits hard.. super low bass!

Default I just picked up a Diamond Audio M5. The M6 is the new line (more)

These subs are super efficient and require a tiny enclosure. You MUST check into the Diamond M6 line if you want a swet sub that can run in a small enclosure and take it easy on your electrical system.

The shop I bought the sub from had just stopped selling Diamond so They only had on 12" M5 left and I took it. The owner has two of these in his van and the hatch flexes out about two inches (they are crazy) and they are very musical. Definately look into the M6 line if you want a high quality sub that requires a small enclosure..

Also check into Image Dynamics, Alumipro, Eclipse, and of course JL Audio (especially the new W6 V.2 line)..

Default the M6 is like a hybrid between a Mac daddy and the M5

It uses the aluminum cone like the M5 but uses the magnets from what looks like the ones on the Mac daddy.

Default ive used my fair share of subs here is what i have used so far

I had 2 10" Infinity Kappa's, 2 10" JL W6, 2 12" Diamond audio M5, 3 12" M5, 3 12" Diamond Audio Mac daddy's, 2 12" JL W7's. Prob most bang for the buck goes to the M5 which is now replaced by the M6, BTW I have seen the M6 and they look very impressive. The Mac Daddy's wont hit as hard as the w7's but they are one of the cleanest hitting subs ive had. The W7 hit harder and cleaner than the mac daddy's, but the mac daddys seem to respond better to diff frequency's. The W7 when cranked hits the cleanest, the Mac daddy's distort a bit more at higher volume. The W7 require gobs of power. They are also the most expensive of the bunch. Take a look at the w6 v.2 and the M6 if u want to save a few dollars. They are both like hybrid subs. The M6 uses a aluminum cone like the M5 buts uses a magnet from what looks like a mac daddy. and the w6 v.2 is actually the original W7 but jl didnt think it was crazy enough so it developed it further. The W6 V.2 requires a smaller box than a w7. From the looks of the W6 V.2 its has less excursion than the w7 and it mounts like a normal sub were as the w7 has a very wierd way of mounting, the screws are under the foam. Well if u are in LA i'll let u hear my system.
