Poor sound quality when using 10disc CD Changer
First time post here, but I'm normally hanging out on the C4 100/A6 forum.
I've got a '95 Avant with the original "Audi/Bose" Compact Cassette/AM/FM player, and factory "Audi" 10 disc CD changer in the trunk.
We've had the car since June of '06 and have never remembered to load the CD Changer before trips, so we've never used it.
This past week we were going skiing and I finally remembered to put in some CD's. However, when I went to play them, they sound terrible....garbled, and the volume has to be waaaay up in order to hear them. If, while in CD mode, I switch back to FM mode, the sound would be blasting, but clear. Switch back to CD mode and muted/garbled.
I had one "burned" music CD in, and 4 others that were commercially made (ie, purchased from a store).
Do I have a bad Changer? A dirty lazer? Bad connections at the changer?
Thanks for your help.
