Really stupid SAFE code question

I pulled the power on my Radio yesterday, and now it is in safe mode. It is an audi concert in my 1998 A8. The code to turn it back on has a 7 in it, but there is no seven on the radio. Also is there anything special in typing this back in?

You use the 1 to 4 buttons

Button 1 for the first digit in the code, 2 for the 2nd etc. So if your code is 2977, press button 1 twice, button 2 nine times, button 3 seven times, button 4 seven times
