Default reverse wire for navigation

Does anyone know where I can find the reverse light wire/reverse wire, I need to hook it up to a Harman Kardon Traffic pro for Gps.
Also where is the Gala located? Bentley says that it is the first pin on the black adaptor (8), but mine doesn't have anything on the first pin.
This unit looks stock in our cars, I just wish it was lit up a tiny bit more.
The sound is absolutely amazing

Default What car do you have? There is a nav+ site for A4

That site shows exactly where to hook up reverse and speed sensor (newer A4's don't have gala; you have to get speed sensor from ABS).
Mine works beautiful thanks to that site. But if you're not running an A4, I don't know if it'll work the same.

Default Some answers/thoughts.

1) Reverse wire: I have a Nav+ in my 2001 A6 and it's been running for 10 months. The reverse wire isn't needed and doesn't really make a difference...unless you drive in reverse in your daily commute.

2) Speed sensor wire: see link below. The GALA wire will give you this link. It's usually a white/green or white/blue wire. If your car is a 2002+ A4/A6....you'll need to tap into this wire behind the instrument cluster. If it is pre-2002, then this wire can be found behind the Sym I or Concert head unit (see pix of "GA" label).

Drop me a line if you need anything else

Default Getting the ABS speed sensor is easier than gala on 2002+

You won't have to pull the instrument cluster to get at it. It's right down by the vag port.
Also, the reverse wire isn't needed, but in any case, if you want it hooked up, it WILL show you "backing" out on your screen when in reverse. Which, while minute in detail, is how it was designed, so I wanted it. And on 2002+, it also is an easy hook up right down by the vag port. Just in case you were wondering.
The ABS speed sensor works great! When I come out of tunnels, the sats pick me right up without hesitation. I've seen some units where all of the sudden the cursor will "jump" on the screen when the sats pick you up from a tunnel and put you where you really are on the map. I haven't had that happen with the ABS. I'm sure the gala would work like that, too.

Default Turns out I didn't need to install the speed sensor wire

and the gala was one of the blue/white wires on the black plug
Worked perfectly on a 99 a4, thanks guys!
