weirdness here

I hear a noise every so often out of my passenger side speaker. Im running a pioneer head unit amplified by nakamichi. This noise, which is just static and the music, will come out of nowhere while playing my stereo. I turn the head unit off, and it goes away for a while. any thoughts on what the heck is causing this?

btw i also have an optima yellow top in the trunk and a 5 farad cap

I'd check your RCA's

Sounds like one of them is on it's way out. I had this on a recent install with a brand new set of expensive leads. Sounded like detuned radio. I'd check this first before looking at the components. Just switch the left and right RCA's over and see if the problem switches as well.

Anything's possible

It's the easiest thing to check and eliminate before you look at the other components. You'd be kicking yourself (like I did) if it was the last thing you check.

i dont think its the rca's...

when i turn off my head unit, ie no signal going through the rca's, the noise is still there for a few seconds until the amp turns off, thats why im thinking its the amp itself.
