What to do?
My first suggestion would be to find a stereo shop you trust and get along with. I don't know how old you are, but I'm now 31 and have been doing my own car stereo "stuff" for 16 years. That said, I'm now at a point in my life were I would rather have a pro do my install and I spent several weeks shopping the different stores in the area until I found a shop I liked. I deal directly with the manager and he will do my install, not one of the other employees. It's going to cost a bit more, but he has almost 20 years professional experience and to me it's money well spent.
OK, I found my store, now what? Well, my choices for brands becomes a little more limited, but they carry Memphis Audio and JL Audio so I'm not sacrificing much.
Memphis Audio makes a 3-way Electronic crossover with high level inputs that will take the speaker wires from the rear to bring in the signal and feed the amps (or 5-channel Memphis Belle in my case). I'm sure there are a couple of other brands that have high-levels inputs so ask around at the shops you visit. It will be part of your elimination process. Find a dealer/shop that has done this type of install before, no sense in being a guinea pig!
