Did MTM Really break the sound Barrier?
<center><img src="http://www.mtm-online.de/imgneu/mtmlogo.gif"></center><p>"...in 1985 it all started with the first Quattro - and since then the fastcination vehicle has never let us go again. It?s not surprising, because I was one of the inventors of the in the meantime legendary five-cylinder row-engine of the Quattro, as I was a young engeneer in the middle of the 80s. In 1990 we established our company mtm. Our product range includes cars form Audi to Seat, Skoda and VW to Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche.
Some time ago no one could imagine that mtm was ever able to serve such a great product range. But we had the necessary enthusiasm and devotion at that time. Already in fall 1992 we developed the mentioned Audi five-cylinder turbo-engine. It reached over 400 HP at the mtm-development. It was the first street licenced Audi worldwide which broke through the sound barrier of 300 km/h.
We are proud of that..."
Notice they state the 'Sound Barrier' is quoted as 300 km/h.
